Bus Driver is ON BOOZE!

So down to 11 days and 21 hours! Man this crept up fast!

After investigation into the possibility of having a bus do a couple of trips to and from Kincardine, we have discovered that the bus driver must be on booze himself!  Get this - $800.00!!!! Forget it!  Unfortunately we can't afford to spend that kind of cash on this... sorry guys and girls, I guess its going to have to be car pooling.

There is also taxi service that will take you down; you can set a flat rate prior to the trip... I think its about $25-$30 (one way)... yeah I know, expensive too. But not as expensive as a trip to the county jail! Carpooling in a taxi would make it cheaper. Sorry, about that!

Anyway, Barry and I are looking forward to seeing you all on the big day.

Bus Driver Bl-ooze

With the recent (ridiculous) change in the laws in Ontario - rant here - how can you "almost" break the law, which is over .08 last time I checked, and now be punished for over .05. Isn't the law over .08? Change the friggin law, don't add in punishment for an "almost". I'm sure this new legislation will be contested legally, as it should  - end of rant -  we've decided to engage the use of a bus from Kincardine for those that don't want to drive. It will mean a much more relaxed day I'd think and no need for a D.D.

We're thinking of a couple of runs down to The Cabin and couple of runs back, at staggered times before and after.  When we iron out the deets, we'll let those of you staying/living in town know where and when you can catch a ride!

Wet & Cold. Is that a Weekend or Cocktail?

YES Both!  But more so, the weekend lately.

Actually... it could also be someone I used to know, but it would be very indiscreet of me to mention a name. Imagine! Me! Being discreet!!!

For Chris Kringle's sake could somebody sacrifice something to the weather man?!!  (If by any chance you do, can you make it Anthony Farnell from Global - he's kinda cute)  Will the weather EVER start cooperating long enough to get stuff done around here? The wedding might just turn out to be a deck staining party!  Bring your knee pads girls! (and I use that term collectively)

Actually we are getting a few things done albeit slowly, and there is SOME light at the end of the tunnel, and its not just from John's recent colonoscopy! Hehehehe, sorry John, but I couldn't resist.   My honeydoo list is dwindling, so I'm safe from that threatened spanking. But who knows, with the colonoscopy mention, I might have to watch my back now.

They're forecasting a chance of wet flurries on Sunday up here. Oh thankyou fcuking very much (for you Shelly), please oh please can we have more snow? Seems kind of weird considering I cut the grass for the first time this year, today.

Barry's been a busy beaver (great illiteration that - mind out of the gutter Dave) and has been hardening off his deck plants (mind out of the gutter Dave). It will be beautiful display (mind out of the gutter Dave).

Actually all in all we're making great headway on the tuhdoo list, even with the looming countdown.

Looking forward to the Greatest Day (thanks Sue, LOVE the song) of our lives in July.

Cheers

Music To Your Ears?

Guess what we've discovered with our RSVP questions. Almost everyone prefers booze over music! LOL

Just kidding; though its interesting that EVERYONE has answered the beverage preference and very few apparently have a favourite song!

I suppose the opening fizz of a beer cap, the light glugging pour of a nicely chilled white wine, or the light clinking of ice swimming in a tall vodka cooler can be a scintillating symphony of sound on a hot summer day... but good music has direct access to the emotions.

While you lubricate with libations, your ears will enjoy that fizz, glug, and clink even more with your favourite mood moving music! Below is what you've asked for so far.

SIDEBAR
So far the beer drinkers are the larger group of us. And the  "winers" seem to be doing the splits. However if you combine them, they're taking over!

32  BEER
22  RED WINE
21  WHITE WINE
08  VODKA
09  NON

Not to worry though, we'll have everyone covered with their drink(s) of choice..... AND you don't have to stay with the same "food" group all day!

Make sure you try the fruit from the white sangria. Janet (of Janet & Dave) especially recommends it. DELICIOUS and ADDICTIVE!

Sun Sets on Tramonto Recovery Brunch

Thanks to everyone who expressed an interest in joining us for the Recovery Brunch on Sunday the 26th.  Unfortunately, Tramonto has had a change of heart since we booked the event with them last December.  They no longer feel they're up to the challenge of such large numbers all at once.  They also didn't want the 'collective us' to have a bad experience with waiting times. One of the managers is no longer there and the chef would be on his own as the kitchen staff doesn't work Sundays.

They suggested instead of our large party arriving together, that everyone book their own reservations - which would be at 15 minute intervals - but didn't feel they would be able to close the restaurant to others, not wanting to upset their regular Sunday morning 'after church brunchers'.  But for us, that defeated the purpose of the occasion.  So we've opted to forgo the event as it was planned.  Everyone is still welcome to make their own reservations and enjoy the venue anyway.

Perhaps we can all meet for a snack and afternoon cocktail at one of the pubs in town instead. But there'll be more on this to follow in the coming months!

Thanks again for your interest, and as of this posting - 110 days to go!

BOOK YOUR ROOMS NOW!

For you "citified folk" who require accommodations, its best if you book now instead of waiting till later in the season. We can only hold the blocks of rooms that we've reserved until the end of May. We've discovered too that there are at least 2 other weddings that we know of on the same weekend  - one in Kincardine at the Pavillion (congratulations to the Kirkconnell family!) and another down in the beach area near us. So rooms are going fast.

We believe the "walking distance" Cedarbrook B&B mentioned on our Accommodations page has been filled already, so best get on your reservations now or you may have to travel further than you'd like.

Is there anyone in the area attending the wedding that may have a room or two available for billeting, can you let me know?

Thanks everyone, I hope you can all make it!  116 days and counting.

Cheers
